COVID 19 GUIDELINES

Great news, driving lessons can take place again from the 12th April 2021...
Driving tests will take place from the 22nd April 2021.

Still following the guidelines set below....
​
Ocean City School Of Motoring cannot provide driving lessons in England because of the national lockdown.
​
However, we can:
Teach a mobile emergency worker if they have an emergency driving test booked via their employer.
​
This service is only available to:
NHS health and social care workers.
The emergency services.
Local councils.
​
To be eligible, your pupil must both:
Need to drive as part of their job.
Respond to 'threats to life' as part of their job.
​
All pupils should talk to their employer to find out if they're eligible and how to apply.
​

What charges pupils can expect when they take their test.

NHS test and trace service:
Your instructor will use test and trace service, also DVSA will share your details with the relevant NHS service if a DVSA member of staff you had close contact with both:
Develops coronavirus symptoms within 48 hours of your driving test.
tests postitive for coronavirus after their symptoms developed.

Keeping the training area clean, steps that will be needed:
Frequent cleaning of the vehcile and equipment between uses.
Frequent cleaning of objects and surfaces that are touched regularly, including door handles, fuel pumps and vehicle keys, and making sure there are adequate disposal arrangements for cleaning products.
Encouraging pupils to wash hands before boarding vehicles.
Retaining sufficient quantities of hand sanitiser/wipes within vehicles to enable workers to clean hands after each lesson.
Clearing training area and removing waste and belongings from the vehicle at the end of each lesson.

Maintaining good ventilation in the vehicle, keeping windows open for air flow.
​
Face covering must be worn while taking training or in driving test:
Wash hands thoroughly with soap and water for 20 seconds or use hand sanitiser before putting a face covering on, and before and after removing it.
When wearing a face covering, avoid touching your face or face covering, as you could contaminate them with germs from your hands.
Change your face covering if ti becomes damp or if you've touched it.
Continue to wash your hands regularly.

Please be mindful that the wearing of a face covering may inhibit communication with people who rely on lip reading, facial expressions and clear sound.
